The Transforming Education conference is held every second year during January for parents, board members and teachers. This features a range of quality Australian and international speakers, opportunities for discussion and reflection and an array of practical workshops. Many schools plan ahead and budget for all staff to attend as part of the school's total professional development program.
Our prayer for Transforming Education 2008 was that we would honour and glorify God as a family together. Many also prayed the it would empower school communities to grow personally and professionally; to be challenged and encouraged in the task of Christian education. God faithfully answered those prayers:
I want you to know that our school community was wonderfully blessed by the Transforming Ed Conference. David Smith and Bruce Burgess inspired our staff in so many ways and we have been talking about it on and off since then. Our training and development this term will be based around the conference themes. It will, I'm confident, have a profound positive impact on our school community for many years to come. Shocked by Blessing, written by yourself [Caroyln Kelshaw] and Rod Thompson, is being studied by our middle school staff and at least one home bible study group.
I found the themes and all presentations appropriate as well as personally and professionally beneficial.
The conference was insightful, practical, relevant and biblical.
I thought this was the best conference ever as I thought the choice of speakers was great. I feel encouraged into action rather than just having a head stuffed with academic theory. Very contextual stuff.
This year’s conference was fantastic! I learnt so much, enjoyed getting to know others and it was great to see what is out there.
